Tip 19: Overwrite Existing Text with Replace Mode

Example:

Overwrite Tab Characters with Virtual Replace Mode

gR: enter Virtual Replace Mode.

r{char}/gr{char}: overwrite a single character before switching straight back to Normal mode.
